As Pro-feminist men we actively support feminism and efforts to bring about gender justice and equality.
To give support to our sisters marching against male violence against women on the Reclaim The Night we will hold a candle lit vigil, to remember those women who have been the victims of violence from men, focusing our thoughts on those since the last march.
We hope to support the RTNM by demonstrating our respect and highlighting the gender injustice within society, especially around rape and violence against women from men and the convictions that may or may not follow.
We too demand justice for rape survivors and find the current conviction rates abhorrent and unacceptable.
Our commitment as Pro feminist men is to try to live in egalitarian and respectful ways in our daily lives – at home, at work and on the street.
This vigil shall be held on the 22nd of November 2008 at the Edith Cavell statue outside St-Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square from 6pm.
If you are interested in attending please assemble at the statue at the above time and date or contact Jamie for more information at jamiebriansmith [at] hotmail.com
